Form 1041, U.S. Income Tax Return for Estates and Trusts, is used to report income and deductions for both estates and trusts. Completing the form can be confusing and enigmatic for many tax professionals. We’ll discuss items that are unique to trusts and demonstrate the preparation of Form 1041.

  • Distinguish between simple and complex trusts 

  • Calculate FAI, DNI and IDD for a simple trust
