It includes essential actions to take, the options available for repayment and the potential consequences of non-compliance. This course provides a comprehensive overview of the IRS repayment options available, the potential consequences of non-compliance and how to effectively advocate for clients. Participants will learn practical steps to address IRS debt, how to guide clients in maintaining compliance and utilize tools like a power of attorney, tax information authorization and IRS online resources to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Objectives
Upon completion of this session, you will be able to:

Outline the various IRS repayment options available to clients, including installment agreements, offers in compromise and currently not collectible status

Summarize the potential consequences of non-compliance with IRS debt, such as tax liens, levies and passport revocation

Effectively communicate with the IRS on behalf of clients when you are and are not licensed to do so, including securing a power of attorney, tax information authorization and utilizing IRS online tools for payment arrangements
