Not every client is a good fit for your business. Separating from a client can be tricky, but we have obligations to follow. What are our requirements? How do we protect ourselves? How do we ensure professionalism, integrity and security during the process? We’ll address these questions and more to make sure it’s a smooth client disengagement process. 

Objectives
Upon completion of this session, you will be able to:

  • Create a standard operating procedure for disengaging a client 

  • Draft clear, precise, and honest documentation and communication for disengagement 

  • Create a checklist of legal requirements and firm requirements for document, PII and authorization handoff 

  • Ensure all authorizations and legal or governmental ties are severed
