Secure Your Practice and Build Your Required WISP

A written information security plan (WISP) is required for all tax and accounting practices. In this session, we’ll look at the governing laws protecting your clients’ personal identifiable information (PII) and explain cybersecurity terminology such as QRishing and vishing. Using IRS Publication 5708 as a starting point, we’ll discuss ways to secure your tax practice from a cyberattack and the steps to build your own basic plan for your office. Lastly, if the worst was to happen, we’ll examine what to do in the event of a cyber breach.
